The silicon photonics transceiver is capable of reaching up to 2 km. The device consumes a maximum of 3.5 W and provides data centers with 2-km reach and a high-density, low-cost solution using single-mode fiber. The VCSEL transceiver features a reach of 100 m over multi-mode fiber. It consumes 2 W with no retiming and 2.8 W with full retiming.
