Nitto Inc.A photosensitive epoxy for use in optical waveguides has been developed by Nitto Denko Corp. The material is highly transparent in the near-IR so that optical circuits can be created by patterning via UV exposure instead of conventional dry-etching processes. Embedded optical waveguides also can be created with it. The core pattern surface is flat with a rectangular cross section. The cladding also can be embedded, enabling construction of a 100-µm film on the substrate. Loss over the 0.7- to 1.0-µm range is 0.1 dB/cm.See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaWEBINARSPhotonics.com 11/30/2023Design and Optimization of Optical WaveguidesOptical waveguides are important building blocks for many optical devices and systems.
