89 North Inc. has released the PhotoFluor LM-75, a direct-mounted metal-halide light source for fluorescence microscopy. The device features high intensity at the specimen plane and a DC-stabilized, user-exchangeable lamp that requires no alignment. The internal ballast eliminates the need for an external control box, reducing the required bench space. The fluorescence light source has good output power, stability across a wide spectral range and easy maintenance, according to the company, and does not need a liquid lightguide.See full product
