Request InfoOpto Diode CorporationThe UVG12 photodiode from Opto Diode Corp. operates at 100 percent internal quantum efficiency in the UV and visible regions. The 13-mm2 device was designed for detection between 193 and 400 nm and features responsivity of 254 nm. Minimum responsivity is 0.105 A/W. Extremely stable, the photodiode exhibits less than a 2 percent drop in responsivity after exposure to several megajoules per square centimeter of 254-nm light. The photodiodes are suitable for laser power monitoring, photolithography and other high-power-density applications using UV light.See full productRelated content from Photonics MediaPRODUCTSPhotonics Spectra July 2020 IssuePhotodiodeThe AXUV300C photodiode from Opto Diode Corp. features a 331-mm2 rectangular active area. These articles will provide the tools optics designers need to tailor their designs to the appropriate manufacturing process and to optimize the cost of component fabrication.Aspheric surfaces are powerful tools that combine the optical corrections of multiple lenses into a single element (Figure 1) and affect performance in ways that spherical optics cannot. For example,...Photonics HandbookLaser Safety: Important Considerations: Laser safety is nothing to scoff at; lasers can be hazardous. Enter Class 1 laser products — lasers that are so safe that the user doesn’t require specific laser safety training or protective eyewear. Some precautions still exist, though. When purchasing an industrial laser system, the astute buyer will look for a Class 1 laser product — a system where the laser beam hazard is completely enclosed and there is no potential laser...WHITEPAPERSPhotonics.com 9/8/2020Maximum Measurable Power for Photodiode DetectorPhotodiodes are one of the most common detectors used for measuring optical power of a light source.
