SANTA ROSA, Calif., July 22, 2013 — Alluxa Inc. has added hard-coated mid-IR bandpass and multibandpass filters with ultrahigh transmission and no measurable absorption in the water band to its next-generation plasma deposition process. The filters are deposited using proprietary plasma PVD (physical vapor deposition) technology, including narrowband, multiband, notch and edge. They offer steep slopes and square profiles. Absence of absorption in the water band at 2.7 μm enables high transmission at every wavelength between 2.5 and 3.0 μm, a unique aspect of the technology, the company said.
