Applied Precision LLC has introduced the PersonalDV and DeltaVision Core microscopy and image restoration systems. Including a wide-field fluorescence microscope and comprehensive 3-D deconvolution system, DeltaVision Core offers a stage that can travel 50 mm wide, a workstation that can store up to 5 TB, a server with a 1- to 3-TB database for imaging data management, and software that enables cell-tracking, autofocusing, point-visiting and time-lapse data acquisition. It allows for >1000 h of continuous imaging, it can acquire a two-color stack of 16 optical sections per second, and the optics provide a resolution near the diffraction limit. The PersonalDV is an economical system for academic research labs and biotech start-ups.
