NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I., Oct. 13, 2010 — Hexagon Metrology Inc. has announced the complete new line of Romer Absolute Arms, which includes, in addition to the previously released six-axis arm for tactile and tube inspection, two seven-axis models.
The new touch and laser scanning measuring arm models include one with an integrated laser scanner and one with the capability to attach an external laser scanner. They are available in six sizes ranging from a 2- to a 4.5-m measuring range.
The portable arm coordinate measuring machines are flexible tools for quality control. The 3-D measuring arms are used for dimensional verification, alignment for assembly, computer-aided design comparison inspection, 3-D scanning, reverse engineering, product development, rapid prototyping and tube geometry inspection.
Benefits include process improvement, faster inspection cycles, reduced scrap and increased manufacturing efficiency.
The Romer portable metrology devices are used for fast on-site inspection.
