MAINZ, Germany, April 1, 2013 — The SD3000, a direct multibar diode laser system from Dilas, delivers up to 3-kW output at 980 nm to the workpiece for surface treatment applications such as hardening and for applications that need large spot geometries.

The system is available either with a symmetric spot configuration (SD3000S) or with different line focus configurations (SD3000L). Its line focus is homogenized in the long direction.

The turnkey device comes with a water-water heat exchanger and power supply diode laser driver. An integrated standardized data link control control unit provides external interfaces such as analog/digital interface, CANopen or other bus interfaces, making for easy integration into material-processing workstations. It also is equipped with pilot beam for positioning purposes.
