Avago_ASDLgroup.jpgFour infrared sensor component families have been announced by Avago Technologies. The ASDL-4xxx, 5xxx and 6xxx are IR emitter and detector products, and the APDS-91xx series comprises reflective proximity sensors. The ASDL series incorporates proprietary AlGaAs/GaAs LED technology and operates at 870 and 940 nm. The APDS sensors incorporate an infrared LED and a phototransistor in a single integrated module that operates in low-temperature environments. The compact design enables detection at distances from 8 to 12 mm. The emitters and detectors can be used in smoke detectors, in IR spotlights for cameras and in remote control devices. The sensors are suitable for packaging and assembly equipment, beverage dispensing machines, copiers and printers.
