For machine vision and fluorescence applications, and for separating spectral orders, Edmund Optics Inc. introduces its Tech Spec short-pass filters in the near-IR wavelengths from 750 to 1100 nm. They have a sharp transition from transmission to reflection and, when combined with the company's color glass long-pass filters, they become efficient bandpass filters. Average transmission is 85%, and blocking optical density is 2.0. Efficiency is enhanced by a single-layer AR coating on the back surface.
