SPATIAL PHASE MODULATORS
Hamamatsu CorporationRequest Info
Hamamatsu Corp. has introduced programmable spatial phase modulators for real-time correction of optical aberrations in adaptive optics applications. The X8077 and X8267 offer display resolutions of 640 x 480 and 1024 x 768, respectively. They control light elements, including wavelength, amplitude and polarization, and conduct spatial waveform shaping, wavefront compensation and optical correlation. An optical image-transmitting element casts an image through an LCD to an optically addressed, parallel-aligned nematic liquid crystal SLM. Their integrated optical system eliminates the diffraction noise caused by the LCD pixel structure and allows easy computer-controlled pixel manipulation while producing images with continuous pixels, the company says. The modulators are suitable for pre- and postprocess semiconductor applications, and for use in laser printers and laser machining equipment.
