Leica Microsystems Inc. has developed a personal confocal microscope for applications requiring visible laser illumination and two fluorescence detector channels. The Leica TCS SL has an integrated design including objectives, microscopes, scanner optics and electronics. The microscope's spectral detectors provide greater sensitivity through higher optical transmission and steeper spectral response for better separation of dyes and less crosstalk. The TCS SL offers 350-nm axial resolution and is available with a choice of lasers, making it suitable for applications utilizing green fluorescent protein and its variants.
