SPECTRAL SOURCE Newport Corp. has introduced the Lambda Commander OSP 9500 programmable spectral processor featuring a built-in ASE broadband light source. Two versions are available covering the C-band from 1520 to 1560 nm and the C- and L-bands from 1520 to 1620 nm. The device is suitable for fiber optic applications and can be used for WDM source simulation to test fiber optic components, and as a tunable light source for characterizing fiber Bragg sensors. The company says it enables users to control the intrinsic profile for reshaping and defining the exact spectral profile for testing or simulation.
