Ocean Optics Inc.'s HR2000+ spectrometer generates up to 1000 full spectral scans per second, with optical resolution to 0.035 nm FWHM. It combines a 2-MHz A/D converter, programmable electronics, a 2048-element CCD array detector and a USB 2.0 port into a 25.4-mm-diameter, 101.6-mm-focal-length optical bench. Ten user-programmable digital I/O lines interface to other equipment, and a pulse generator triggers other devices. The system is responsive from 200 to 1100 nm, with range and resolution dependent upon the user's grating and entrance slit choices. Fourteen gratings and six slit sizes are available.
