A portable UV-VIS-NIR diode array spectrophotometer from Optical Solutions Inc. allows evaluation of process analytical applications at any plant site to determine the analytical feasibility of transmission or reflectance measurements with fiber optic probes in liquids, solids, slurries and gases. The PS-2E-UV comprises two spectrometers and a halogen source built into a portable PC and an external pulsed xenon source for wavelengths from 220 to 2200 nm. The fiber optic-based device includes PLS and the company's OS-MLR software package.
