Shimadzu.jpgThe IRAffinity-1 Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer has been released by Shimadzu Scientific Instruments Inc. The device measures 514 × 606 × 273 and weighs 35 kg. It offers resolution of 0.5 cm–1 and a signal-to-noise ratio of 30,000:1, resulting from a high-energy ceramic light source, a temperature-controlled high-sensitivity detector, a high-throughput optical element, and the optimization of the electrical and optical systems via a dynamic alignment mechanism. The airtight Michelson interferometer, which has an angle of incidence of 30°, incorporates an internal auto dryer to protect the beamsplitter. The system includes the IRsolution software.
