Axsys Technologies Inc. has released the FSM model 2217-100 dual-axis fast-steering mirror. The device features a single-mirror flexure mechanism, a closed-loop position-feedback sensor, large angular deflection, a voice coil drive and electronics based on digital signal processing. The company says that these features eliminate the need for software compensation routines, expand the mirror’s applications, improve repeatability and extend product life, and that the mirror delivers precise laser beam stabilization, alignment, steering, mapping and scanning.
