SUPERLUMINESCENT LED The EXS1305-811 from Exalos AG is a broadband superluminescent LED for fiber optic telecommunications, instrumentation, optical coherence tomography, structural sensors and fiber optic gyroscope applications. Typical output power is 0.5 mW in a single-mode fiber and up to 10 mW for nonpigtailed devices. It is packaged in a TO-56 housing with various fiber pigtails, including multimode and polarization-maintaining. The LED operates at 1300 nm and at a current of up to 150 mA, and has a typical bandwidth of 40 nm FWHM and a spectral ripple of <0.1 dB.
