Digital Surf Sarl has released its Mountains 4.1 technology for the analysis of micro- and nanogeometry and 2- and 3-D surface technology. The company also has released its MountainsMap version 4.1 software, which has 40 new features and includes a set of 3-D parameters that conform to the ISO standard on aerial surface texture, scheduled for publication this year. Several metrological functions are based upon segmentation by watersheds, a method for dividing a surface into functionally significant structures only. Scanning probe microscopy functions include flexible loading of multilayer files and the ability to overlay a texture on a 3-D image of the surface under study.
