GARDEN GROVE, Calif., Oct. 26, 2015 — SWIR Fiber CollimatorsMicro Laser Systems Inc. has added a broadband shortwave-infrared (SWIR) coating to its family of diffraction-limited fiber collimators.

SWIR fiber collimators are designed for gas-detecting lasers, medical applications near 2 μm, communications and lidar. An adjustable focus feature allows the collimator to be tuned to wavelengths such as 1550 or 2000 nm.

Various beam sizes allow the beam to be focused to different distances for probing a distant sample with higher power densities.
