Sapphire 588 LP Orange OPSLs
Coherent Inc.Request Info
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 19, 2012 — New Sapphire lasers from Coherent Inc. offer orange output, which excites a number of fluorescent dyes used in bioimaging.
The models deliver 20, 50, 75 or 100 mW at 588 nm. Because they use proprietary optically pumped semiconductor laser (OPSL) technology, the Sapphire 588 LP lasers offer good performance and reliability, making them suitable for OEM and stand-alone applications.
They produce a diffraction-limited, TEM00 beam with M2<1.1, beam divergence <1.3 mrad, pointing stability <5 µrad/°C, power stability <2% over 2 h and noise of 0.25% rms from 20 Hz to 2 MHz.
With the laser head measuring 125 × 70 × 34 mm, the devices provide identical form, fit and function compatibility (optical, mechanical, electrical, interfacing) with all other Sapphire LP models, independent of wavelength and power class. This simplifies integration, including wavelength addition and substitution, for OEMs and end users. The lasers are equipped with USB, RS-232 and analog interface ports.
Applications include flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and drug discovery. The 588-nm output is optimum for exciting a broad range of established red fluorescence fluorophores (Texas Red, Alexa Fluor 594) as well as new fluorophores such as the mfruit dyes (mCherry, mPlum).
