Providence, R.I., March 9, 2023 — Meller Optics' sapphire lenses, windows, and prisms are designed for use in medical lasers, endoscopes, oximeters, and other instruments. Meller Sapphire Medical Optics are suited for instruments in frequent contact with skin and cleaned frequently. Featuring Mohs 9 hardness, the optics are impervious to chlorine and fluorine gas and can transmit from the UV to 4.7 microns. They are optically clear and manufactured to OEM specifications in sizes from 0.25 in. to 10 in. in diameter in round or square, concave or convex, and flat or stepped configurations. Sapphire windows transmit up to 85% uncoated and can be coated to transmit greater than 99%, depending on thickness.
