CoherentInc.jpgCoherent Inc. has extended the power range of its Sapphire 488-nm lasers with the 500-mW Sapphire 488 HP and the 75-mW Sapphire 488 LP. The 500 HP is suitable for flow cytometry and fluorescence imaging. The air-cooled laser head measures 215 × 140 × 51 mm and produces high quality output in terms of mode quality (M2 <1.1), divergence (<1.2 mrad), pointing stability (<±30 μrad over 2 hours and ±3°C) and noise (<0.5% rms from 20 Hz to 2 MHz). The 75- mW LP model measures 125 × 70 × 34 mm and has a long lifetime, low heat dissipation and high stability, making it a good alternative to air-cooled argon lasers for biomedical applications and semiconductor inspection.
