Edmund.jpgEdmund Optics Inc. has announced an expanded line of f-Theta scanning lenses for laser materials processing applications. Included is the 355-nm fused silica type with a short focal length, permitting users to obtain the smallest possible spot size for improved system resolution. The telecentric lenses, which are suitable for laser marking and 3-D prototyping, are designed to eliminate the perspective error found in conventional systems and to increase depth of field, which enhances their ability to handle nonflat surfaces and renders them suitable for cutting or drilling when the process must remain perpendicular to the surface, for example in solar panel processing.
