Prior Scientific Inc. has announced that its ProScan III motorized scanning stages for high-end microscopy applications now are compatible with Zeiss AxioVision microscope software. With the release of AxioVision 4.8.2 and MicroToolBox version 1.8.1, AxioVision users can select Prior’s scanning stages in combination with the ProScan III stepper motor controller. Apart from high repeatability and precision, requirements for X-Y stages and their control electronics include smoothness of operation and long-term stability. In collaboration with Carl Zeiss MicroImaging GmbH, Prior has developed new controller firmware to enable direct stage programming through AxioVision.
