Schlieren Imaging MirrorsHigh-precision mirrors for Schlieren imaging have been announced by Optical Surfaces Ltd.

The devices are concave spherical mirrors, up to 800 mm in diameter, for Schlieren imaging systems in a range of materials including Pyrex, Zerodur and ULE. A surface accuracy of >λ/10 is provided with an emphasis on profile smoothness. Final characterization of surface smoothness is featured using highly accurate interferometric measurements.

Ultrahigh-precision surface finish and durable optical coatings combine to provide superior Schlieren image quality.
