TRENTON, N.J., March 2, 2010 – Princeton Instruments has released LightField, a 64-bit data acquisition software platform for use in spectroscopy and scientific imaging.
It controls the company’s cameras and spectrometers via tools that streamline experimental setup, data acquisition and postprocessing. It automatically saves data to disk during acquisition, applies a time stamp, and retains raw and corrected data in the resultant file along with experimental details.
The platform is suitable for multi-user facilities and single-user labs. It remembers each user’s hardware and software configurations and tailors its own features accordingly, displaying all relevant tools via an intuitive graphical user interface.
The platform’s capabilities can be extended with proprietary and patent-pending IntelliCal wavelength calibration software, suitable for use in optical imaging; Raman, fluorescence, laser-induced breakdown and photoluminescence spectroscopy; surface and materials analysis; combustion studies; and astronomy. The software is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7 and Vista.
An event-driven application programming interface is provided.
