BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y., April 8, 2021 — A line of Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) modules from ElectroOptical Innovations LLC is designed to replace legacy photomultiplier tube modules with extended capability, decreased cost, and improved reliability.
With a wide dynamic range, the devices can count photons and operate in analog detection mode without modifications. With low noise, wide bandwidth, and digital control, the modules combine a built-in programmable gain amplifier with a bias generator to give the lowest possible noise level at the commanded gain. The devices are flexibly licensed and easily customizable with voltage- or serial-controlled gain, cooled or uncooled, and with bandwidths from 200 kHz to 200 MHz.
The front-end design focuses on high linearity, low noise, and a small footprint, making them suited for time-of-flight instrument lidar, flow cytometry, and microplate reader applications.
