PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 30, 2014 — Forza Silicon has announced its silicon reconfigurable image sensor, with multiple programmable functions in a single chip.

The compact device merges an imaging array with a customizable analog/digital processor and can be programmed to perform multiple monitoring and decision-making tasks at the sensor edge.

A range of input/output operations and processing functions are possible, and the programmable logic can be configured to enable camera functionality unsupported by existing microprocessor chips.
