Gentec Electro-Optics Inc. has announced the Pronto-Si silicon sensor for measuring low powers.

When combined with the integrated slide-in OD1 attenuator, the total power range of the Pronto-Si extends from 0.3 nW to 800 mW. Measurements are made in continuous mode, allowing the Pronto to be installed and left in the laser beam path indefinitely.

The sensor part has a slim profile of 6 mm, allowing it to be used in tight spaces. Internal memory allows users to acquire data and transfer it to a PC for further analysis.
