Simply Better Photonics Tools For more than 10 years, New Focus has been a leader in creating simply better photonics tools and solutions for commercial and research applications. Now in our second decade, we continue to actively partner with our customers to develop the innovative tools and equipment they need.

As an example of our new and exciting products that you'll find in our upcoming 2003/04 catalog, we're now offering closed-loop Picomotor actuators and drivers, in response to overwhelming customer demand. These unique linear actuators are based on our traditional Picomotor actuators and offer calibrated motion and absolute positioning while still retaining the <30-nm resolution and set-and-forget position-holding attributes that make our Picomotor actuators so popular. These compact motion-control systems can be used for accurate positioning of samples and wafers, and for fiber alignment and micromachining.
