A 1550-nm fiber-coupled laser diode with a 50-kHz linewidth and output power of 100 mW with fiber Bragg grating stabilization has been unveiled by Frankfurt Laser Co.

It is supplied in a hermetically sealed butterfly housing that incorporates thermoelectric cooling, a thermistor and a monitor photodiode. Single-mode and polarization-maintaining fiber output are available.

The fiber is terminated with an FC/APC connector. The laser operates from −40 to 70 °C and is suitable for use in harsh environments.

Applications include direct-diode frequency doubling, gas sensing, interferometry, laser seeding, low-noise pumping, metrology, Raman spectroscopy and remote sensing.
