Single-mode fiber
FibercoreRequest Info
Fibercore Ltd. has unveiled the SM300, a single-mode fiber with an undoped silica core designed for high-power medical and biotechnical applications. Delivered in ultraviolet, blue and green wavelengths, the fiber addresses the problem of photodarkening in conventional fibers when transmitting more than a few milliwatts in the respective spectra. The silica core’s fluorinated cladding features apertures of 0.1 to 0.11. The fiber is suitable for applications requiring single-mode and high-beam quality, including laser Doppler velocimetry and anemometry, holography and two-photon spectroscopy.
