WILMINGTON, Mass., Sept. 10, 2012 — Xenon Corp. has announced the Sinteron 5000 system for sintering printed electronic products at manufacturing speeds that meets the demands of roll-to-roll and conveyor feed production.
The system uses proprietary and patented pulsed light technology to deliver high-energy bursts of pulsed light for sintering silver nano-inks on the production line at up to 100 ft/min, without harming or overheating substrates such as plastic, film, cloth or paper. Pulsed UV sintering is an essential step in producing printed inks that have the proper conductivity.
The system includes 10 independently controlled lamps with a touch panel that allows operators to precisely control roll speed, active lamps, overlap between lamps, and lamp pitch and footprint. An integrated 16-in.-wide conveyor system can be easily removed for roll-to-roll applications.
In the printed electronics industry, the Sinteron system rapidly dries and prepares conductive inks at room temperature, making it possible to print on heat-sensitive flexible substrates.
