The OV64B 64-MP image sensor from OmniVision Technologies Inc. features a 0.7-µm pixel size for ultra-thin, high-end smartphone cameras.

The sensor features a ½-in. optical format and PureCel Plus stacked die technology for high-quality still captures and 4K video recordings with electronics image stabilization. It also provides 8K video at 30 fps. The OV64B supports three-exposure, staggered HDR timing for up to 16-MP video modes. It integrates a four-cell color filter array and on-chip hardware re-mosaic for 64-MP Bayer output in real time. In low light conditions, the sensor can use near-pixel binning to output a 16-MP image with 4× the sensitivity, offering 1.4-µm equivalent performance for previews and still captures.

The sensor features Type-2, 2×2 microlens phase detection autofocus (ML-PDAF) to boost autofocus accuracy in all light levels. It also provides a CPHY interface for greater throughput using fewer pins, and supports slow motion video for 1080p at 240 fps and 720p at 480 fps.
