A software upgrade kit from PicoQuant and Nikon offers a new interface between PicoQuant’s SymPhoTime 64 and Nikon’s NIS-Elements imaging software, and can be adapted to all Nikon laser-scanning microscopes in various configurations.

It allows direct, time-resolved data acquisition from the Nikon software. The expanded software interface also significantly improves fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS) data acquisition and enables recording of new acquisition schemes, as well as single and multipoint measurements for FCS.

The kit extends the capabilities of the LSM toward time-resolved measurements with a resolution down to picoseconds, allowing for various analyses on the time scale.
