NEWARK, Del., Oct. 4, 2010 — B&W Tek Inc. has announced its newest near-infrared spectrometer, the Sol2.2A, with a spectral range from 1100 to 2200 nm. It features a built-in AutoZero function that results in very low noise and a high dynamic range. It is designed with four levels of gain, producing good results for most applications in low-light-level near-infrared detection.

The InGaAs array instrument also is equipped with built-in three-stage thermoelectric cooling down to -10 °C, with no external control box, allowing for easy integration via a 5-VDC power supply. It delivers 12-nm FWHM spectral resolution, with custom resolutions available. It is supplied standard with 256 pixels, with 512 and 1024 also available.

Other features include a built-in 16-bit digitizer, and an optional shutter and RS-232 interface. An SMA 905 fiber optic input and software also are included. The user can choose between high-sensitivity and high-dynamic-range mode. The spectrometer is USB 2.0 plug-and-play compatible.
