SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 20, 2013 — JAI has added two 20-megapixel industrial cameras to its Spark series. Featuring a global shutter and full frame rate of 30 fps, they are suited for examining flat panel displays and printed circuit boards, and for outdoor applications such as persistent surveillance, border security and aerial mapping.
The monochrome SP-20000M-PMCL and color SP-20000C-PMCL incorporate a CMOSIS CMV20000 imager and offer full-frame resolution of 5120 × 3840 pixels. A dual Camera Link interface can support multiple data rates in base, medium or full configurations, while power is supplied through a separate 12-pin connector or the Camera Link connectors using a dual-channel-powered frame grabber.
Both models leverage CMOSIS’ eight-transistor pixel architecture to implement true correlated double sampling for improved image quality with a high degree of pixel uniformity. A 1:50,000 parasitic-light sensitivity ratio minimizes global shutter leakage, while additional in-camera correction routines provide reduced pattern noise.
The 62 × 62 × 84.5-mm cameras are operational from –45 to 70 °C and feature automatic level control. User-defined single and multiple region-of-interest capabilities provide image-capture flexibility with higher frame rates, and both models support vertical and horizontal mirroring.
