LCOS-SLMs are liquid crystal on silicon-based spatial light modulators that manipulate light by way of electrically controlling optical amplitude, phase, and polarization.

SLMs may be used to control 2-dimensional light beams to achieve hologram images, beam deflection, and arbitrary beam shape. SLMs have been deployed in various applications, such as 3D printing in UV, cell manipulation in VIS and laser processing in IR.

Our LCOS-SLMs are suitable for a range of applications including those requiring high-speed response, high-power tolerance, and UV light hardening. Santec SLMs feature 10-bit control (1024 gray levels), and excellent phase stability of less than 0.002π.

• High-Speed Spatial Light Modulator / SLM-210
SLM-210 is our high-speed model with significantly improved response speed that uses second generation LCOS technology. SLM-210 is a LCOS-SLM with a response time of less than 10 ms, and brings improvements of performance in optical applications such as wavefront correction, optical beam shaping for laser processing, biosensing, and quantum computing.

• High-Power Spatial Light Modulator / SLM-300
SLM-300 high-power model holds the world record for high-power durability able to accommodate a sustained 200 Watts of CW power. SLM-300 has 100 times higher power durability when compared with Santec’s conventional SLM product, SLM-200.

• UV Hardened Spatial Light Modulator / SLM-250
SLM-250 has a 42 times higher UV tolerance compared with SLM-200. A power density up to 10 mW/cm² is sustainable using a novel liquid crystal and dielectric mirror design. SLM-250 has been deployed in various industrial and scientific applications, including beam shaping, computer-generated holograms, optical manipulation, and wavefront correction.
