Spectral FocuserThe Newport Spectral Focusing Timing and Recombination Unit (SF-TRU) has been announced by MKS Instruments Inc.

The second-generation device has been upgraded to add grating pairs for adjustable chirp control in the fixed and tunable beam paths of dual-wavelength, dual-output femtosecond lasers, such as the Spectra-Physics InSight X3 dual-output laser. A resonant electro-optic modulator is also included for spectral focusing stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) and coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) applications, with spectral resolution down to 5 cm-1.

The SF-TRU is flexibly designed to facilitate a variety of single- and dual-beam multiphoton imaging and ultrafast spectroscopy applications, including CARS, SRS, transient absorption and more.
