EXFO Inc. has introduced the FTB-5230S optical spectrum analyzer and the FTB-5230S-OCA optical channel analyzer for use in coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM), dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) and hybrid networks.

The optical spectrum analyzer achieves wavelength measurements for a variety of turn-up and commissioning applications, and offers optical signal-to-noise ratio testing in accordance with IEC 61280-2-9 interpolation method. It handles up to 23 dBm per channel, making it suitable for modern cable operator networks.

The optical channel analyzer offers high-power central wavelength measurements up to 23 dBm per channel and keeps settings to a bare minimum to maintain simplicity in the field. It is suitable for a variety of multiwavelength applications, including DWDM, CWDM, DWDM over CWDM and CFP power measurements.
