KENLEY, England, April 20, 2021 — Spherical MirrorsConcave spherical mirrors from Optical Surfaces Ltd. are designed for Schlieren imaging systems in a range of materials, including fused silica, Zerodur and ClearCeram. Distinct applications span airflow turbulence, explosive shockwaves, gas leaks, and visualization of transparent thermal phenomena.

Mirror sizes can be up to 800 mm in diameter, with surface accuracy of better than lambda/10 and a smooth profile with ultrahigh precision surface finish and durable optical coatings delivering superior Schlieren image quality.

Various radii and diameters, noncircular shapes, and light-weight options are available.
