Spectra-Physics, a Newport company, has added the Spitfire Ace regenerative amplifier and Spitfire Ace PA (power amplifier) to its ultrafast laser portfolio. These devices are suitable for spectroscopy and advanced science applications, including multicolor time-resolved spectroscopy and nonlinear optics.

The Spitfire Ace PA provides output power of >14 W at 5 kHz and >12 W at 1- and 10-kHz repetition rates, and delivers high energy of >12 mJ.

The Spitfire Ace provides output power of >7 W at 5 kHz and >6 W at 1- and 10-kHz repetition rates, and delivers >6 mJ with <35-fs pulse width.

These devices feature the proprietary XP cavity.
