HOOD RIVER, Ore., Aug. 22, 2012 — Hood Technology has announced the Alticam 11 EO/IR1, a camera turret payload for small tactical unmanned aerial vehicles. The four-axis stabilized payload for long-range imaging also is suitable for use in manned and unmanned land vehicles, ground vehicles, aerostats, unstable fixed mounts and marine systems.
The imaging system includes customized zoom for visible wavelengths and cooled, continuous zoom for mid-wave infrared thermal imaging. Laser channels include a night vision-goggle-compatible, 830-nm laser pointer and an eye-safe laser rangefinder.
The Alticam 11 EO/IR1 payload is 25.4 cm in diameter and weighs <5.5 kg.
The company offers highly enabled intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance payloads. Its four-axis gimbal design, when combined with its onboard image processors, offers image stabilization, pointing accuracy and field-of-regard for the integrated narrow-field-of-view infrared sensors, and stable pointing and distance measurement for the laser channels.
Optional integrated payload and video processors offer advanced target tracking, multiple moving target detection, and comprehensive image processing and payload control functions.
