LOGAN, Utah, July 15, 2010 — Ophir-Spiricon's StarLab 2.01 laser power/energy measurement software converts a PC into a multichannel laser power/energy station. Features of the newest version of the software include Windows 7 64-bit compatibility and LabView support for the company’s Juno USB laser sensor-to-PC interface. Earlier this year, StarLab added synchronization and display of multiple channels in one window, user-defined and multichannel calculations, and an easy-to-use configuration panel for all channels.
The software works with the company’s smart displays and PC interfaces, allowing users to measure, analyze and record laser power and energy parameters from its line of smart power/energy sensors.
It collects data from pyroelectric, thermal and photodiode heads using any proprietary laser power/energy meter, PC interface or combination of the two. The software logs power and energy, and calculates and displays averages, statistics and histograms. Windows 7 64-bit compatibility facilitates working with large data sets, and makes computations faster and multitasking more efficient.
LabView support integrates real-time control and advanced analysis and signal processing functions with Juno, a compact USB module that connects any of the company’s 100+ smart laser sensors to a PC USB port.
StarLab 2.01 supports the following laser power/energy meters and PC interfaces: Juno (USB laser sensor-to-PC interface; multiple devices connect up to eight heads to one PC); USBI (USB laser sensor-to-PC interface); Vega (compact, stand-alone meter with bright color display); Nova II (high-definition, stand-alone meter with LCD display); Pulsar (high-speed multichannel USB meter supports data logging to PC, up to 25,000 Hz); and Quasar (wireless Bluetooth meter with range >10 m to PC).
Available now, StarLab 2.01 is included free of charge with all USBI, Pulsar, Quasar, Nova II and Vega power/energy meters. It runs on Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista (32-bit) and Windows 7 (32- and 64-bit) platforms.
