STARNBERG, Germany, Sept. 4, 2012 — The StarPack lasers manufactured by Rofin-Baasel Lasertech are used in the packaging industry. Whether it is cross web/free-form scribing, web direction scribing or perforation, with StarPack CW, StarPack WD, StarPack AP and StarPack Pouch, there is always an optimized setup.

Intelligent packing offers benefits in terms of convenience and product quality, and it plays an ever-increasing role in consumer product marketing.

Add-on features include “easy opening” and “controlled atmosphere packaging.” Laser scribing and laser perforating on packaging are indispensable.

The company configures every system individually by combining the StarPack system modules to fulfill each customer’s requirements. It develops high-power lasers with a wavelength of 10.2 μm, suitable for most of the materials used in the flexible packaging industry. Production speed can often be doubled without implementation of a more powerful laser.

A redesigned control panel now offers the Starflex graphical user interface, eliminating the need for an operator to be trained on different types of machines.
