SALEM, N.H., Dec. 11, 2017 — Steep-edge longpass filters from Andover Corp. feature magnetron-sputtered hard oxide coatings.

The devices yield deep rejection to >OD 4 and a sharp transition slope of 1 percent to very high transmission. The coatings are deposited on precision-polished fused silica substrates and do not employ any absorbing filter glass, making them suitable for high-temperature applications.
