KEENE, N.H., April 6, 2011 — StingRay Optics LLC has introduced SuperBand, an all-refractive optic. The superspectral achromatized lens series is designed to keep pace with today’s rapidly developing detector technology.
The new lens assemblies offer achromatic imaging over a wide spectral region, from the visible to the far-IR wavelengths. They are suitable for use in systems comprising multiple sensors, stacked focal plane arrays or emerging dual-detector arrays via a common aperture approach.
The company offers three SuperBand lens assemblies, including 25-, 50- and 100-mm focal lengths. They are designed for use with cooled detectors offering an f/2.5 cold shield arrangement and are well suited for use with the 640 × 512, 15-µm focal plane array formats. Other available lens configurations include options for dual field of view designs, varying f number systems, large-format focal plane arrays and alternate sensitivity ranges.
A single SuperBand lens assembly can be used with an InGaAs, InSb and/or quantum well IR photodetector-based detector.
