NKT Photonics A/SRequest Info
BIRKERØD, Denmark, Jan. 25, 2011 — NKT Photonics has launched the next-generation SuperK Extreme ecosystem fiber lasers that span different spectra and power levels, together with an extensive and intelligent accessory portfolio allowing on-the-fly variation of repetition rate, flexible wavelength tuning systems and optimized spectral shaping options for applications in fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy, Förster resonance energy transfer, optical coherence tomography, noncontact inspection and any other application requiring light that is broad as a lamp and bright as a laser.
A redesigned software suite, SuperKontrol, allows full PC control of the system through a straightforward graphical user interface. An additional software development kit further extends the flexibility of the system, enabling users to meet demanding critical timing sequences or triggering requirements. The core of the system is based on proprietary photonic crystal fiber technology, which delivers high performance and reliable supercontinuum solutions.

The intelligent SuperK supercontinuum ecosystem focuses on ease of use, flexibility and reliability. The supercontinuum white-light laser system was designed to meet present and future challenges of industrial and academic customers.
The system and accessories carry onboard intelligence that provides true plug-and-play operation. Users simply connect modules together without the need for special setup or configuration, and the system automatically takes cares of installation and control. This intelligence also allows the user to upgrade the SuperK Extreme to another power or spectral level on-site, without having to return the system to the factory. Thus, users can incrementally build and expand the system to cater to evolving application needs over time.
The systems deliver >8 W of total power, >2 W of visible power and documented lifetimes of >15,000 h, rendering them a maintenance-free alternative for OEM and industrial applications. Proprietary photonic crystal fiber technology results in high power, industrial reliability and ease of use.
