Surface ProfilerSensofar Metrology has announced the S lynx, a compact, high-resolution, noncontact 3D surface profiler. 

Confocal, interferometry and focus variation techniques are integrated into the same sensor head, allowing surface measurement versatility over differing textures, structures, roughness, waviness and surface scales. The device comes with a white LED light source, a high-resolution camera and an encoded nosepiece for interchangeable objectives. There are no moving parts in the sensor head, providing stability, repeatability and a long lifetime.

Applications include use in surface measurement applications for the automotive, consumer electronics, energy, LCD, materials science, microelectronics and semiconductor fields.
